San Francisco - How much has the cloud industry grown in the last two years alone? A new study discovered that workers are using 10 times more cloud apps than IT professionals project. Gary Read is one of the thousands trying to innovate the cloud.
The Business Insider reports that 500 new cloud apps enter the market each day. Due to the high volume of these applications, IT experts are finding it extremely difficult to know and monitor which ones the company’s workers are using. This could lead to breaches in data as one story was written about where one worker was sharing company data with the organization’s competitor.
IT developers are now establishing software mechanisms that produce unified dashboards when it comes to cloud services. One such person is the aforementioned Gary Read, who has worked in the industry for many years.
Read, a British-born businessman who studied at Coopers’ Company and Coborn School in Upminster, maintains significant experience in application monitoring, network monitoring, DevOps, IT Ops and System monitoring.
Living in the San Francisco Bay area with his family for more than 15 years, Read first began his career as a systems programmer on IBM mainframes at the Joint Credit Card Company. During his career, he also found employment at the National Westminster Bank. Later on, Read served as European Marketing Director at Boole & Babbage and as Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Riversoft.
By working as a CEO for Nimsoft, he attained expertise in the field of cloud monitoring solutions. After playing a crucial role in the private firm, Nimsoft grew to generate approximately $100 million in bookings and 300 individuals. Under Read’s tenure, Nimsoft was acquired by CA for $350 million.
Since the beginning of 2012, Read has worked for Boundary Inc. as the president and CEO. It’s a San Francisco, California-based firm established in 2011 that assists customers in understanding application and infrastructure behavior in real-time.
It offers customers solutions that provide a unified dashboard delivering operational insights. Boundary is delivered via a SaaS model and deploys in minutes, while also being non-intrusive. Under Read’s reign, Boundary has experienced growth across all aspects of its business and has shown a great increase in the number of customers.
