article image87-year-old Hugh Hefner buys mansion for 27-year-old wife

By Marcus Hondro     May 22, 2013 in Entertainment
The phrase 'you can't take it with you' may have been on Hugh Hefner's mind when he dropped a cool $4.995 million for a house in the Hollywood Hills for he and his wife, Crystal Harris. The couple will continue living in their Playboy mansion, however.
The two have only been married five months after being engaged to marry in 2011 and calling it off. At the time Hefner said he "dodged a bullet" by not marrying Harris, while Harris went out with other men and gave a radio interview where she made disparaging remarks about his abilities, more his lack of abilities, in the bedroom. Despite their words, they got back together in 2012 and wed in January of 2013.
Playboy Bunny House for sale
The Playboy founder has said he and his wife will not be living in the 5,917 square foot house for now and will continue on in the Playboy mansion. The new home was only built two years ago and reportedly has a host of amenities and a brilliant view of Los Angeles.
Both their names are on the title and Hefner may have bought it as a birthday gift to each of them. He turned 87 on April 9 and she turned 27 twenty days later.
His current home, the Playboy mansion, which he leases, is right across the street from the Playboy Bunny House, on the market for $11 million. It could that when the Bunny House sells, Hefner and Harris will head for the Hollywood Hills.
