A painting of a topless Bea Arthur, who starred as Dorothy on the show "Golden Girls", sold for almost two-million dollars.
According to NY Post, "Bea Arthur Naked" was created by artist John Currin. The painting shows the star with a blank expression and her bare breasts.
According to USA Today, the painting sold on Wednesday. An anonymous buyer purchased it for $1.9 million.
According to New York Daily, the painting was created back in 1991. Christie's auction house described the painting as nostalgic and repelling adding that the work was imagined from a photograph of Bea Arthur with clothes on.
Some critics called the painting sexist and vulgar when Currin first painted it.
