Lionel Messi is a phenomenon football superstar. Yet will he conquer his latest injury to participate in the World Cup qualifiers?
Many FC Barcelona fans were disheartened to see 25-year-old football superstar Lionel Messi off the pitch in the Barca-Atletico Madrid matchup last weekend. The Catalan club ran tests and announced that the forward is suffering from muscle strain as his right thigh has been plagued with the injury since April 2’s game against Paris Saint-Germain. The footballer will be sidelined for three weeks to recuperate as his current season ends with an injury. His participation in future games will depend upon his recovery.
Messi featured in 32 La Liga games where he scored 46 goals, 12 assists, and took 163 shots. While he will be sitting out the last three games of Barcelona this season, the footballer may be back on his feet to participate in Argentina’s bid for the World Cup next month.
On the other hand, Barcelona rallies on to clinch its 22nd La Liga title for the 2012/13 league. As a video commemorates on the team’s official site “Perhaps we have [got] used to winning, but nobody can get used to victory.” The video ends with “Your struggle is our league.”
