article imageKeira Knightley quietly weds Klaxons' vocalist in south of France

By Robert Myles     May 5, 2013 in Entertainment
Mazan - British actress Keira Knightley, aged 28, yesterday married her boyfriend, James Righton, a vocalist and keyboards player with British indy band The Klaxons.
29-year-old Righton had begun dating Keira Knightley in February 2011, and the couple became engaged in May 2012. Yesterday, the couple were married in a very low-key ceremony in the commune of Mazan, in the Vaucluse department of deepest Provence in the south of France, reports France 24.
The announcement of the wedding was made by Aimé Navello, the mayor of Mazan who said the ceremony had been one for close family with only around 15 guests attending. It’s believed Keira Knightley’s parents own a property in the commune of Mazan.
Miss Knightley first shot to prominence as a teenage star in the film Bend it with Beckham (2002). Since then, she has played major roles in many films. Her most recent major release was when she played the lead role in Anna Karenina (2012). She is perhaps best known for her recurring role, playing Elizabeth Swann, alongside Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Latterly, she had been on the set of the latest CIA thriller in the Jack Ryan series, entitled simply Jack Ryan, playing Ryan’s wife Cathy Ryan. Jack Ryan is scheduled for release later in 2013 and also stars Chris Pine (the young Captain Kirk in the Star Trek prequels) as Jack Ryan, Kevin Costner and Kenneth Branagh.
