A new trailer has been released for the upcoming action science-fiction mecha film called “Pacific Rim” which is due to hit theaters this coming July. This is known as the Japanese trailer as it was specifically made for Japanese audiences.
Guillermo del Toro, who is charged with directing Pacific Rim, starts out in the trailer by giving a message to the Japanese viewers. He explained getting talent from Japan. Del Toro said that he wants to honor Japanese cinema in regards to mecha and kaiju films. Afterward, the trailer shows scenes of Mako Mori who is primarily portrayed by Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi with Mana Ashida playing the younger version of the character.
In Pacific Rim, large monsters known as Kaiju emerge from the Pacific Ocean and start wiping out humanity. Humanity strikes back by utilizing giant humanoid mechas called “Jeagers.” Pacific Rim hits theaters on July 12.
