A poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos found that a majority of Americans do not want the Obama administration to get militarily involved in Syria's civil war.
According to their poll, 61% of respondents said that the US should not get involved, while only 10% were in favour.
When it came to the issue of whether the US should get involved if chemical weapons began to get used, a number of Americas were still not in favour, with 44% against, and 27% in favour.
The poll was carried out amongst 519 Americans aged 18 and over.
