The online retailer, Tesco Direct, has revealed information about the upcoming game, 'Call of Duty: Ghosts'. In no time word has spread and rumors are buzzing.
After Tesco Direct leaked the news, other online retailers like Xtralife.es began listing Call of Duty: Ghosts available for pre-order. The game is being developed by Infinity Ward but its expected that Sledgehammer Games and Neversoft will also be involved.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is expected to be released on November 4, 2013 for all major consoles.
The pre-order ad was online for short time before it was taken down, however little was reviled including a possible cover art and a synopsis that describes the game as: The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty®: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the seminal Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® series, Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.
In no time gaming news sites began to be flooded with rumors and hype with a lot of the attention being focused on the new software engine. However hopes for a new engine are being meet with skepticism from fans.
CODNetwork.com has also reported that major retailers have received promotional material and are preparing for an official unveiling. It is expected that Activision will make an official announcement on May 1st.
Other rumors have spread that gamers will take on the role of Lt. Simon "Ghost" Riley, one of the most popular characters in the series despite being killed-off at the end of Modern Warfare 2.
News about an upcoming Call of Duty was announced by Activision on February 7 during a Q4 conference call. If the rumors are confirmed, Call of Duty: Ghosts will be the tenth game in the series.
