On Tuesday, the 2013 Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) Annual Meeting & Expo kicked off in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Billed as the premier business and networking event of the year for the payments industry, hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of top industry executives will be on hand for the two-day event.
"The 2013 ETA Annual Meeting & Expo is the best place to do business in the electronic transactions industry," said Jason Oxman, CEO of ETA. "As the trade association of the payments industry, ETA is uniquely positioned to provide the best platform for the latest in electronic payments technology to create business opportunities for the more than 3,000 industry professionals who will attend the show."
Organizers of this year's conference say the 2013 expo will be the biggest event in ETA’s history, which isn't surprising given the rapid growth of the $3.6 trillion electronic payments industry.
Michael Abbott, CEO of Isis - the mobile operator joint venture forged by Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, and T-Mobile USA - will be among the event's headlining speakers. David Nelms, CEO of Discover Financial Services, is another high-profile executive headed to New Orleans at this hour.
Over the weekend, North American Bancard confirmed that its CEO, Marc Gardner, will be a featured speaker on two separate panel sessions during the conference.
Representatives from VISA, Inc., AT&T, Wells Fargo, China Union Pay, VeriFone, Inc., First Data, Ingenico North America, and NPC are also expected to attend.
