article imageVideo: Obama rocks 'bangs' at White House Correspondents' Dinner

By JohnThomas Didymus     Apr 28, 2013 in Entertainment
Washington - At the 2013 White House Correspondents' Dinner, President Obama said he is looking to improve his image in his second term as president by borrowing a trick from his wife: Her famous "bangs" style.
Obama, who walked in to Rapper DJ Khaled's "All I Do is Win," began his hilarious dinner speech (see video) at the Washington Hilton, Washington D.C, on Saturday April 27, by poking fun at Rush Limbaugh, saying: "How do you like my new entrance music? Rush Limbaugh warned you about this. Second term, baby!"
Then he talked about his wife's favorable ratings in the polls, suggesting it was due to her style. He said: "These days I look in the mirror, and I have to admit I'm not the strapping young Muslim Socialist that I used to be." He continued: "I recognize that this job can take a toll on you. I understand that second term you need a burst of new energy and try some new things. My team and I talked about it and we're willing to try anything, so we borrowed one of Michelle's tricks."
He then presented a slideshow with Photoshopped images of himself sporting bangs hairstyle like Michelle's. He said: "I think this looked pretty good, but no bounce."

He jabbed at critics who raised a controversy over Jay-Z and Beyonce's recent visit to Cuba. He said: "I've got 99 problems and now Jay-Z is one."
He continued: "Dowd said I could solve all of my problems if I was just more like Michael Douglass in 'The American President.' I know Michael’s here tonight. Michael, what’s your secret? Could it be that you were an actor in an Aaron Sorkin liberal fantasy?"
Obama took shots at the media:
CNN: "I know CNN has taken some knocks lately but the fact is, I admire their commitment to covering all sides of the story, just in case one of them happens to be accurate.”
MSNBC: "David Axelrod now works for MSNBC, which is a nice change of pace, since MSNBC used to work for David Axelrod."
History Channel: "The History Channel is not here... guess they were embarrassed about the whole 'Obama is a devil' thing... Of course, that's never kept FOX News from showing up. They actually thought the comparison was not fair... to Satan." (LOL!!!)
BuzzFeed: He joked about his college pot smoking. He said: "I remember Buzz Feed was just something I did in college around 2 a.m."
He joked about detractors who said his skeet shooting photo was Photoshopped: He said: "Do you remember a few months ago? My administration put out a photo of me going skeet shooting at Camp David. Quite a number of people insisted that this had been Photoshopped... You were right. Can we show them the actual photo? We were just trying to tone it down a little bit."

After Obama's speech, talk show host Conan O'Brien took the stage with more jokes. Concerning the Obama administrations job creation efforts, he said: "Since he was reelected, the number of popes has doubled and the number of Tonight Show hosts has tripled."
He described the North Korean leaders as "a pouty teenage boy who dresses like Rosie O'Donnell at the Emmys."
He also poked fun at the dinner gathering, comparing it to a high school cafeteria. He said the gathering was "just one big high school cafeteria... Fox is the jocks... bloggers are the goths... NPR is the table for kids with peanut allergies. Al-Jazeera is the weird foreign exchange student nobody talks to."
