Mobile application makers are creating new business opportunity for people in search of a job or just some extra cash. Small business and consumers are embracing this exciting new path.
Associated Press reports in the video above the story of Candice Johnson. In need of money and a job that would keep her close to her kids, she took some advice from a friend and started an app store.
Seven months ago she set up a sellers account with Poshmark, a Sillicon Valley based app maker. From a tiny closet in her bedroom, she can make 300 to 400 dollars a week selling her old clothes.
Another story reported by refers to "the Scoutmob app" that connects small business with consumers. The app knows where you are and can tell you where to go for whatever it may be that you want to buy. Everyone with a small business now has distribution, potentially to the world. It allows even the small players to have a shot.

Eddie Gros of Atlanta created the "Tap your taxi" app. According to, instead of calling a busy company number, with Tap Your Taxi you can get a direct phone line to the nearest driver, or, automatically hail them through the automated service. If you use the automated service, you will be able to track your driver as s/he approaches your location and also rate your experience.
