New $100 bill coming

By Owen Weldon     Apr 24, 2013 in World
A new redesigned $100 bill is coming. The new bill will have the same old face, Benjamin Franklin, but it will have a few tech tweaks.
According to NBC, the new tweaks are meant to discourage counterfeiters.
According to CNN, the Fed says that the bill is a culmination of a decade of research as well as the design process.
The new bill will have a security ribbon that is 3-D and it moves when the note is moved around from side to side and when it is tilted back.
According to USAToday, the new bills will go into circulation on October 8, two years after it was supposed to originally be released.
The $100 bill is the bill that is most counterfeited, and the last time it was redesigned was back in 1996. There is no need to trade in old $100 bills when the new ones come into circulation.
