Army Master SGT C.J. Grisham, a decorated war veteran, was on a Boy Scout hike with his 15-year-old son when he was arrested after being accused of "rudely displaying" a firearm. The incident was captured on video.
Grisham said that members of the Temple Police Department illegally disarmed him, even though he has the proper permits that allow him to carry his weapons, according to RedState.
Grisham, who was carrying his AR-15 rifle and a .45 caliber pistol, and his son was walking along a road in a rural area that is populated by cougars and wild boars.
According to The New American, Grisham was eventually approached by a local police officer who confronted Grisham. Grisham said that he was asked what he was doing with the rifle, and he asked the officer if it mattered and if he was breaking the law?
According to Oregon Commentator, the incident took place on March 16, and it ended with Grisham being arrested and charged for resisting arrest, which was eventually dropped and changed to interrupting, disrupting, impeding and interfering with a peace officer who was on duty.
As of now, Grisham has raised more than $40,000 for his fundraiser called the 2nd Amendment Legal Defense Fund. Grisham says that he is fighting for gun rights and against illegal search and seizure.
