Kochi - In an affluent neighbourhood of Kerala, India, a mother videotapes her nine-year-old son racing around the private streets in a Ferrari F430.
After already demonstrating his skill in handling the family's Lamborghini and Bentley, the nine-year-old boy was allowed to take to the wheel of the red Ferrari as a birthday treat. As the video shows another boy was sitting in the passenger seat, while other children played in the road which is studded with speed bumps.
NDTV reported the child's mother Amal Nisham defended her son. His actions were criticised when the video she shot went viral. Nisham said: "He is a cautious and confident driver. I am proud of him."
She added "It's only because my son is driving a Ferrari that it is being made an issue. He has got talent in him. He likes driving cars and drives them well. I think we were just boosting him. We were trying to build the talent he has got."
Nisham further claimed that the controversy surrounding the issue has only been created because her son was driving an expensive car.
The minimum age limit for driving a car in India is 18.
