article imageFormer Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney to be at Boston service

By Marcus Hondro     Apr 18, 2013 in Politics
The former governor of Massachusetts, and former candidate for the presidency of the United States, Mitt Romney, will attend the prayer service Thursday in Boston for the victims of the marathon bombing. All former governors of the state were invited.
U.S. President Barack Obama will be at the service with First Lady Michelle Obama. The Boston Globe noted that this will be only the second time since the November election that Romney and Obama attend the same event.
The two had lunch at the White House three weeks after the election, spending about 90 minutes together. Since the 2012 election Romney has largely kept from the public eye. In December he re-joined the board of Marriott International as a director, his third time in that post. He gave a speech in March at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
President Obama is expected to speak at the service, to take place at 11 a.m. in Boston`s Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
