Ottawa - After over 5 months of campaigning, the Liberal Party of Canada will be announcing their new leader today at 5PM Eastern.
As has been reported by the CBC and party officials, Over 103,741 of the 127,264 registered voters had cast a ballot by the 3PM deadline to do so today.
The winner will be announced at around 6 p.m., at a special event in Ottawa. The ceremony will start with a speech from former prime minister Jean Chretien, followed by profiles of the six candidates and finally the the vote totals will be released. Once released, the new leader will give a speech.
Earlier this week, the Toronto Star reported that the total ballots cast in the 2013 Liberal Leadership Race past the 65,374 New Democrats who voted in the leadership race last March in which Thomas Mulcair was elected.
