A transgender woman has been cited for trespassing and banned from an Idaho grocery store for a year after using the woman's bathroom, police said on Friday.
The A Rosauers supermarket in Lewiston asked police to charge Ally Robledo, 25, who was born male but identifies as female, with the misdemeanor trespass charge on Monday, according to NBC.
According to KBOI-TV, Lewiston Police Captain Roger Lanier, said that some women customers were uncomfortable because of the appearance that a man was using the ladies' room.
Police said that the store owners did not do anything wrong in banning Robledo.
According to KLEW, police also said that anyone who owns their property can make the decision to ban people as it is within their rights.
Robledo said that calling the police was a waste of taxpayers' money, and it was not really sufficient.
