Video: Tour guide wrestles with monster snake in Everglades

By Mark Harradine     Apr 13, 2013 in Odd News
Everglades - Tourists on a boat ride through the Florida Everglades had a vacation experience that they’ll never forget, a 10-foot python. Their tour guide, Tommy Owen, spotted the massive snake whilst accompanying a family on a tour around the Everglades on Tuesday
Owen jumped into the shallow, murky waters and wrestled with the snake. He managed to pull it out of the water and get it to the shore whilst it had wrapped itself around his arm. According to Owen this variety of snake doesn’t belong in the Everglades and is responsible for eating native species in this protected area.
"I didn't even realize it was 10 feet - definitely thought it was over 6 feet - definitely bigger than me. I didn't realize it was three times the size of my arm," commented Owen for Fox News. The shocked family of tourists managed to capture everything on video as their brave tour guide pulled the monster from the water, a video they’ll remember for a long time.
