article imagePsychiatrist warned that James Holmes was a danger to the public

By Sami Zaatari     Apr 5, 2013 in Crime
In newly released documents, it's been revealed that the psychiatrist that had been treating James Holmes, had warned campus police that Holmes was a danger to the public a month before the deadly shootings.
Dr. Lynne Fenton also told the campus police that Holmes was having homicidal thoughts, as well as being threatened and intimidated by Holmes himself.
Amongst the contents in the released documents, was that police searching Holmes' apartment after the shooting, found more than 50 cans of beer, a batman mask, as well as drugs used to treat anxiety and depression.
The latest revelations comes as Holmes pleaded guilty in a plea deal that would avoid the death penalty, and would instead have him serve a life sentence. The plea deal has yet to be agreed by the prosecution, who may continue in seeking the death penalty.
Holmes was responsible for the deadly shooting at an Aurora movie theatre during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises. The shooting left 12 dead, and 58 injured.
The Aurora shooting massacre, as well as the Sandy Hook massacre, has promoted the Obama administration to push for tougher gun control measures. Obama though, had recently stated that he wasn't too optimistic on passing through the gun control measures he'd like to see.
Several states have been passing their own legislation on gun control, including Colorado, the state that saw the deadly Aurora movie theatre shooting.
