article imageAmerican couple found dead in their Panama home

Panama City - An expatriate couple was found dead in their home in the mountain town of Boquete in the interior of Panama on Good Friday.
According to Panama Guide, the bodies of Ricky (54) and Sherry (52) Donaldson, who were originally from Texas, were found in their rental home in downtown Boquete after their landlords noted suspicious odours emitting from the property. The couple had moved to Boquete after living elsewhere in Panama for a year and a half.
The cause of death remains undetermined at this point but according to local authorities, the bodies showed no sign of injury or struggle. Expat Exchange reports that both of the Donaldsons may have been on high-dosage pain medications as a result of previous accidents. The couple made a few substantial monetary donations recently and the police and the community alike are considering the likelihood of a planned double-suicide.
A series of expatriate-targeted crimes have been terrorizing foreigners in Panama for weeks now. Perhaps the most notable is that of Ed Moynan, whose decomposed remains were found in a suitcase in a Panamanian national park near his home last month.
