Police investigating man who drove car into a San Jose WalMart

San Jose - The San Jose Police Department is investigating an incident regarding a man who drove a car into a San Jose WalMart on March 31, 2013.
The Police Department's Communication Center received reports that a car drove into the WalMart located on 777 Story Road. After the crash; the suspect immediately exited the car, grabbed a blunt object nearby and began attacking customers inside the store.
The driver was subdued by customers inside the store until officers arrived on scene and took custody of the suspect. According to investigators, the suspect may have been under the influence of methamphetamines.
The San Jose Police Department has identified the suspect as Haamid Zaid, a 33 year old resident of Seaside, California.
Three people were taken to the hospital while another six were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Zaid was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run, under the influence of drugs and resisting arrest.
