J&D Foods is run by Justin and Dave. Apparently they are "just two regular guys" and it's their dream "to make everything taste like bacon." Now it seems they have ventured into the sex market.
Justin and Dave might have gone a tad too far, by offering Bacon Condoms on their website at only $9.99 a pack. Unfortunately, at present the item is out of stock, but you can be put on the waiting list.
J&D's describes Bacon Condoms as being the second in their line of products for bacon lovers.
They tell us that every year 5 million condoms are sold worldwide. Apparently 450 million of these are in the US alone and up until now, none of them had felt or tasted like bacon.
"J&D’s Bacon Condoms™ are proudly Made in America of the highest quality latex. Every Bacon Condom has been rigorously tested to help ensure reliability and the utmost safety for when you’re makin’ Bacon. As an added bonus, J&D’s baconlube™ ultra premium water based meat flavored personal lubricant has been generously applied inside and out for an even more hot pork experience. "
The condoms come under the "Naughty Bacon" line on the website, along with the baconlube, "the world's first bacon-flavored massage oil and personal lubricant."
Are they really serious about this stuff?
The whole thing started as an April Fool's joke. According to J&D's blog, "When we launched our April Fool's gag - baconlube - we thought "this will be funny in sort of an innocent yet not so innocent way." We thought we'd be crafty and launch it a day before April 1st so that we might catch people off guard."
One of the many comments they apparently received on their blog read as follows:
" I am a physician, and a board-certified gynecologist. Assuming this is not an April Fool's joke, I would love to be a tester. And I have patients that would sign up in a heartbeat. And if it is an April Fool's joke: guess what, the joke's on you. Because if you don't put it on the market soon, somebody else will."
Apparently the whole idea was so popular, the duo actually went ahead and came up with the actual product, to naturally be followed by the latest in Bacon Condoms. Tasteless, anyone?
