Game developer ATLUS has announced plans for a full-length anime movie adaptation for "Persona 3." It is called "Persona 3 the Movie #1: Spring of Birth."
This year seems to be a busy year for the Japanese game developing and publishing company ATLUS' “Shin Megami Tensei” series. ATLUS is planning to release a North American port of “Soul Summoner: Soul Hackers” which is due to be released for the the Nintendo 3DS portable console this coming April. Also, there are plans for an adaptation for “Devil Survivor 2” in the form of a Japanese anime series in a similar manner as “Persona 4: The Animation” which has already aired. Now, “Persona 3” is getting an anime adaptation; but, it won't be in the form of a series. Instead, Persona 3 will be adapted into a full-length anime movie which will be released this coming fall.
It will be called “Persona 3 the Movie #1: Spring of Birth” which gives the foreshadow that there will be future Persona 3 movies in the future. Along with the announcement of the movie, the first trailer for the movie has been released as well. This movie is an adaptation of the events of the role-playing game (RPG) of the same name.
In the game, you take on the role of a new transfer student who joins a group of students that make up a special group known as S.E.E.S who are immune to the effects of the “25th hour.” In the 25th hour, they explore dungeons and labyrinths to fight against shadows. Like in the previous installments of the Persona games, the characters utilize beings called “Personas” to assist them in battle.
