Vevey - Nestlé has voluntarily recalled Kit Kat Chunky chocolate bars and Giant Eggs sold in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Malta, Austria, Singapore, Philippines, and Canada.
The Nestlé's official website state that seven customers in the UK have reported that they found a piece of plastic in their chocolate bars. They have voluntarily recalled the Kit Kat Chunky bars from all countries where they are sold.
Seven consumers in the UK have told us they found a piece of plastic in the product. So far, we have not received any other similar complaints, but to avoid any risk whatsoever to our consumers, we have decided to voluntarily recall the entire production of these four Kit Kat Chunky varieties and Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg manufactured from September 2012. -- Nestlé
The recall affects 48 g size bars of the Kit Kat Chunky special variety series in peanut butter, hazelnut, caramel and chocolate fudge flavours and Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg.
In Canada, the recall affects Kit Kat Chunky 48 size Hazelnut and Peanut Butter flavours and Kit Kat Chunky Variety Multipack (3 count) as posted on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's website.
There have been no reported consumer complaints about the affected products in Canada.
