Google has unveiled a new pair of motivational talking trainers which announce "this is super boring" if the wearer is sitting around too long.
The Times reported Google created the prototype talking shoes in conjunction with Adidas.
The trainers are wired up to Bluetooth technology. A speaker in the shoe's tongue communicates with the wearer through headphones, sending messages to encourage activity.
However, the talking trainers won't be coming onto the market soon in spite of the encouragement they can offer to budding athletes. Instead they were developed as an example of wearable technology.
Aman Govi of Google's advertising arts team explained "The talking shoe is an experiment in how you can use connected objects to tell stories on the web today."
