article imageCanada: Marc Garneau quits Liberal leadership race

By Richard Mccallum     Mar 13, 2013 in Politics
Ottawa - An anonymous source close to Canada's first astronaut says that the candidate is about to quit his bid to lead the embattled Liberal Party.
The anonymous source who is close to Garneau's campaign says that the former astronaut feels that he can do nothing to stop Justin Trudeau's astounding popularity which many pollsters feel may go on to lead a minority win in the next federal election.
The Liberal leadership has seven remaining candidates. The voting will take place by phone and on-line in April with the winner decided on April 14/13.
Garneau is expected to make the formal announcement later today.
