James Franco earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Los Angeles - This has been a very good week for actor James Franco. Not only has his latest film 'Oz the Great and Powerful' opened at the number one spot this weekend, but he has also been honored with a Walk of Fame star in Hollywood.
For the 34-year-old actor, earning the 2,492nd star in Hollywood is a dream come true. At the unveiling ceremony, Franco told the crowd, "When I got to L.A., I'd come here and see the stars and it just seemed like it was something that was part of the city and you would never crack that. It was part of Hollywood history. It's still baffling that my name will be there."
During his early career in 2001, Franco had a breakout acting role in a made-for-TV movie 'James Dean', which he was praised by critics for his convincing portrayal of Hollywood icon James Dean. He in turned became one of the most bankable young actors of the last decade, starring in popular movies like the 'Spider Man' franchise trilogy, Knocked Up, Milk, Pineapple Express and Eat Pray Love. He also landed the lead role in the Sci-Fi hit 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' in 2011. That same year, he was both an Oscar host and a best actor nominee for his role in the true to life survival film '127 Hours'.
CBS News reported that Franco's family and friends were there to celebrate, including his mother Betsy. Knocked Up and Pineapple Express co-star Seth Rogen and 'Oz' director Sam Raimi offered speeches about him. "I've actually thrown up right there. It's a good spot," Rogen jokingly revealed.
Franco's star is located at 6838 Hollywood Boulevard, which is in front of the historic El Capitan Theatre. It is an area that his good friend Rogen is very familiar with, and approved of.
