The nominees include Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away," Taylor Swift's "Red," Eric Church's "Chief," Luke Bryan's "Tailgates & Tanlines," as well as Little Big Town's "Tornado."
Although these five musical acts consist of extremely talented musicians, look for Taylor Swift or
Carrie Underwood's new records to reign supreme over their fellow nominees. Both songstresses are at the top of their game and they are the two most popular choices (especially Taylor who is also nominated for "Entertainer of the Year").
Last month, Carrie picked up a Grammy award in the "
Best Country Solo Performance" category for "Blown Away," which is the title cut of her latest album, thus enhancing her chances for a win.
If there were to be any surprises, look for them to come from Eric Church since his “Chief” CD was named “Album of the Year” at the Country Music Association (CMA) awards in 2012.
Luke Bryan and Little Big Town’s CDs are extremely well-crafted but they are more likely to take home wins in other ACM categories. A major advantage that Luke Bryan has over his fellow nominees is that he is co-hosting the award show with Blake Shelton and he is up for "Male Vocalist of the Year" and "Entertainer of the Year." In addition, Luke's "Tailgates & Tanlines" was one of the best-selling country albums this year (after Taylor's "Red" CD).
Tune in on April 7, 2013, on CBS to find out which of these country artists will take home the "Album of the Year" honor at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards. For a complete visit of this year's nominees, visit the
official ACM website.
