Syrian rebels have released the 21 UN peacekeepers they captured on Wednesday, and have handed them over to Jordanian authorities.
The 21 peacekeepers were captured by rebels calling themselves "The Martyrs of Yarmouk" while patrolling the ceasefire line between Syria and the occupied Israeli held Golan.
The rebels released a video displaying the UN convoy as well as the peacekeepers themselves, vowing to treat them as prisoners if Syrian troops did not withdraw from the village of Jamla in 24 hours.
The peacekeepers, all of whom were Filipinos, crossed into Jordan on Saturday afternoon according to the UN's Arab peace envoy, Mokthar Lamani.
