Cayden Bibeau, 2, got an Elmo-themed birthday cake, which was bought from a Walmart. However, the toddler found a knife in the cake.
According to Huffington Post, Bibeau's father, Nathan Bibeau, was not pleased with the discovery. He said that after the knife was found, the birthday party was canceled.
According to Babble, the paring knife was discovered when a relative was cutting the cake.
The family are highly disappointed and upset, and are considering a lawsuit against Walmart. The family said that they cannot get that second birthday back ever.
According to Opposing Views, Walmart issued an apology, and offered to refund the family for the cake.
Kayla Whaling, a spokesman, said that the incident should have never happened, and that they were thankful no one was hurt.
The use of paring knives will now be banned at Walmart stores across the country.
