A North Carolina widow subjects apologetic burglar to staring down the barrel of her gun. The burglar had returned to apologize but this didn't matter, he was being held until the sheriff arrived.
In North Carolina police have reported a burglar being held up at gunpoint upon his aplogetic return to the home of a widow.
The news report reports Nathaniel Leatherwood, 26, of Georgia had allegedly stole a shotgun, cell phone, and medication from widow Sue Johnson's Cherokee County home.
He returned only to be faced with the ultimate penalty; a visit to the sheriff's office.
So I just pulled my gun out of my pocket and said I'm calling the sheriff's office," Johnson reported. "They're going to come pick you up. I'm not going to let this happen to an old, retired lady who lives alone.
The local sheriff Keith Lovin arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect Nathaniel Leatherwood and was reported to have been very thankful Ms Johnson hadn't been harmed.
Ms Johnson was confident in using her weapon and said: "Especially if you are a widow and live alone, you need to be taught to shoot and have something in your house to protect yourself,"
Further adding to confirm her non fearing attitude:
"I just go to bed each night and sleep through," and "Whatever happens will happen."
