West Haven - An employee at a Dunkin' Donuts in Connecticut threw hot coffee at a man that attempted to climb through the drive-through window to rob the store.
According to NBC, the would-be robber showed up at the West Haven Dunkin' Donuts about 11 p.m. on Saturday night. He asked the clerk for change for a $100 bill after ordering a coffee.
The clerk refused to make the change and that was when the man announced that he was robbing the store, and tried to climb through the window.
According to Gawker, the employee, identified only as Angelica, then tried to close the window but couldn't because the man's arm was in the way.
She said that she saw the coffee that she made for him and quickly threw him the first one. She then saw the pots of coffee and threw a pot of coffee at him.
According to Business Insider, that was when the suspect started to run back to his truck and then left.
Angelica said that when he was running she told him to "run on Dunkin." Dunkin' Donuts catchphrase is "America runs on Dunkin."
