article image'Canterbury Cannibal' arrested, ties to 'Cannibal Cop' revealed

Canterbury - Law enforcement officials in Canterbury, England have searched the garden of a British nurse who allegedly inspired and encouraged NYPD's "Cannibal Cop".
In October of last year, Digital Journal reported Gilberto Valle III, a 6 year veteran of the NYPD, was arrested and charged with illegally accessing a federal crime database and conspiring to cross state lines with the intent to kidnap women. A search of his computer found a database list of women he allegedly planned to target. According to Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, Valle planned to kidnap, torture, rape and eat the women.
Investigators also found evidence of conversations Valle held with a man called "Moody Blues" while in an internet chat room. American and British law enforcement officials identified "Moody Blues" as 57-year-old nurse, Dale Bolinger.
During court testimony in Valle's trial, prosecutors have introduced extensive, gruesome materials gathered from Valle's computer. That evidence included online conversations between Bolinger and Valle in which Bolinger allegedly gives Valle pointers on how to prepare human flesh for consumption. He also bragged about how he had eaten at least two people, telling Valle:
"The meat isn't quite like pork, but very meaty… I've eaten a black woman and a white person..."
Bollinger also told Valle that feet were a delicacy and provided Valle with a recipe on how to prepare"haggis" by using human lungs and stomach.
Conversations also included a "blueprint" on how Valle could kidnap a woman named Kimberly. The conversation, entitled "Abducting and Cooking Kimberly: A Blueprint." included a photo of Kimberly Sauer, a former classmate of Valle's at the University of Maryland. Prosecutors say Valle wrote he could "knock her out, wait until dark and kidnap her right out of her house." Bolinger allegedly advised Valle to try to eat Kimberly or other victims alive, but Valle said he was not "into raw meat".
According to a Daily Mail report, Bolinger offered to fly to Valle and help him kill and butcher a woman, saying he could bring anaesthetic gas and a meat cleaver. He allegedly told Valle if the targeted a variety of different women, they could avoid arrest, adding,
"Girls go missing all the time".
When members of the Kent Police Department were alerted to the alleged connection between Valle and Bolinger, they went to Bolinger's home and began a 15 hour search of the back yard garden. Neighbors told reporters that officers brought cadaver dogs and shovels to the property, with one saying:
"The police came here last week at about seven o'clock in the morning. They had police dogs and there were forensic officers and plain clothed detectives. They even got shovels out of their van and went into the back garden with them. We wondered what on earth was happening. They were there until about ten o'clock at night."
Police have arrested Bolinger and and a 30-year-old man, both charged with conspiracy offences, grooming and possessing images of child abuse. Both suspect were released after posting bail. When asked about his arrest and ties to Valle, Bolinger claims what he said online were jokes and that he had never harmed anyone. He continued by, saying:
"None of this is real. It is all fantasy. It was my stupidity. Because of going online and saying stupid things and putting stupid things about, thinking that it was funny."
Valle's attorney also claims that the conversations were simply a way of acting out a fantasy with no intention of committing a criminal act, telling ABC News:
"There are literally thousands and thousands of people doing the same thing, online, every day."
