article imagePassenger in China forced to leave his leg behind

By Valerie Benguiat     Feb 28, 2013 in Odd News
Guangzhou - An air passenger in Guanzhou, capital of Guangdong province, had to leave his amputated leg behind when airport security personnel barred him from taking it on board.
A passenger at Baiyun International Airport was stopped when trying to transport a frozen amputated limb in a box. The man surnamed Huang explained he was taking his leg to Chongqing, since in his hometown it is a custom to be buried with all the body parts after death.
The passenger couldn’t provide a medical certificate or any document allowing him to transport human parts in a commercial airline, and he had to leave his leg with the relatives who saw him off at the airport.
According to Shanghai Daily, Huang asked his relatives to mail him his leg to Chongqing.
