By Layne Weiss     Feb 27, 2013 in Entertainment
New York - In an interview with Hot 97 Wednesday morning, Odd Future rapper Tyler, The Creator said he doesn't care when White people use the word "n*gga." He said caring would "keep the racism alive."
"We don't actually give a f*ck about that shit," the rapper said when asked about white people using the N-Word, HipHopDX reports. Mothaf*ckers who care are the reason racism is still alive."
When confronted about the historical view of the term as being derogatory, he commented on the people who have fought for racial equality in the past.
"That's sick. That's cool," he said of those who fought for racial equality and against the derogatory terms in the past. "I guess people my age, we're not even thinking like that. When you think like that, you keep the racism alive, when that's not even on our palette."
When asked what he stood for, the young rapper replied, "Being rich and trying and to have as much fun as I can."
Tyler has been making various appearances to promote his upcoming album Wolf, which is set to drop April 2, Rolling Stone reports. Tuesday night he performed on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon with help from Jimmy's in-house band The Roots.
Before appearing on Hot 97 Wednesday morning, Tyler and other Odd Future members appeared on Shade 45's Sway In The Morning to promote Wolf, XXL Mag reports. In addition to promoting the album, Sway dropped a beat for Tyler to freestyle to.
