article imageRomance behind the wheel leads to car crashing through home

Daytona Beach - A Florida couple who could not wait until they got home before becoming "romantic" wound up crashing their car into a Daytona Beach home.
The car crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. Friday when the couple were driving on Continental Drive in Daytona Beach, Florida. Thirty-year-old Asia Walker and her boyfriend, Charles Phillips, were driving down the road when the couple decided to become "affectionate" with each other. The couple became so preoccupied with their affection for each other that Walker lost control of the vehicle and ran into an unoccupied home. The impact of the crash was strong enough it blew out windows in another part of the home, and the car traveled all the way through the house before coming to a stop according to 9 News.
Kim Montes, a spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol said Walker admitted to running into the house, telling WESH:
She [Walker] told the investigating trooper that her and the boyfriend were getting a little amorous and the trooper suspects that's probably why she lost control of the vehicle.
A Broward Palm Beach New Times report says Walker was injured by flying debris and was transported to Halifax Medical Center. Phillips was uninjured.
Walker is charged with careless driving.
