Apple opened up their own retail stores and so did Microsoft, and now sources say that Google has plans to open up their own retail stores.
According to
LA Times, the search engine giant is hoping to open some retail stores in time for this year's holiday shopping season.
According to
WebProNews, Google has a retail presence in stores such as Best Buy and PCWorld/Dixon. Sources say that Google is planning on building stand alone retail stores, where Google would be able to sell its Nexus devices and they will be able to push its Chrome operating system, as well as trying to get Google Glass into people's hands.
According to
GlobalPost, Greg Sterling, a senior analyst with Opus Research, said that Google has enough products to justify opening up a retail store.
Sterling also said that customers could get a better feel for the products that Google has, and they would be able to learn more about the products by talking to Google employees.
