Paris - David Beckham is set to make his long awaited debut for Paris St-Germain next weekend, according to boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Tomorrow's clash with Sochaux was too soon according to the boss due to Beckham only just joining up with his team mates this week.
But the former England captain should be ready to make an appearance in the home fixture against Marseille next Saturday.
He'll be staying here to work, he needs more training, he'll be ready next week. Not necessarily to start, but to play," Ancelotti said.
Beckham, 37, signed for the French Ligue 1 leaders last month on a five month deal with his earnings, thought to be around £1m being donated to charity.
"I won't receive any salary. My salary will go to a local children's charity. That's one of the things we are excited and proud to do," he said.
He added: "It's something the guys [PSG management] do, but obviously it's a very good figure. That's one thing we're very excited about. To be able to give a huge sum to a children's charity in Paris is very special."
Having played for some of the biggest clubs around the world, Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and formerly LA Galaxy, Beckham has had an impressive career but Ancelotti believes at 37, he still has a lot to offer.
"He can bring his experience, his quality, his professionalism - these are things that we need."
Beckham had traveled with the squad on Tuesday to Spain, to watch their defeat of Valencia 2-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League knockout tie.
