article imageEric Church leads Academy of Country Music nominations with 7

By Tim O'Brien     Feb 13, 2013 in Entertainment
Wait, award season ends with the Oscars, right? Not for country music fans, it doesn't. The Academy of Country Music Awards nominations were announced today (Feb. 13).
Eric Church leads all nominees with 7 while Hunter Hayes notched six. Taylor Sift and Miranda Lambert have five nominations. The awards will be handed out April 7 in Las Vegas.
This show is trademarked, or registered as, Country Music's Party of the Year. So, fresh off the trademarked Grammy fest, Music's Biggest Night, here we go for more, but only for country, which often gets pushed aside at the Grammys.
The announcement came with the help of social media and me be a sign of the times, and perhaps, future. These types of announcement are only enhanced when social media is added, and a boat load of celebrities on hand to speak up as well.
Besides The Band Perry, the announcement was fueled by Sheryl Crow, Beth Behrs of "2 Broke Girls," Little Big Town, Scotty McCreery, Ryan Seacrest, "The Talk’s" Julie Chen, Sarah Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood. Oh, and plus "Entertainment Tonight" co-anchors Nancy O’Dell and Rob Marciano.
Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will co-host Country Music’s Party of the Year®.
