London - The Stop the War Coalition has just sent out another press release, and there are two actions in Central London this week. You may not be able to get there, but you can check out their website and videos.
Tomorrow, Friday 13th, there is a demonstration in Parliament Square in support of Shaker Aamer, who is such a dangerous criminal that he has been detained without charge at Guantanamo Bay for eleven years. How long does it take to forge incriminating documents or to beat a confession out of one man?
On Friday evening, there is a protest outside Downing Street against the ongoing intervention in Syria, and the latest misadventure, Mali.
Okay, so you live in Leeds or Glasgow, or New York, or Nigeria, this affects you to, or if it doesn't yet, it will when these lunatics bomb Iran, or spray North Korea with anthrax, or whatever insane scheme they come up with next.
Here is the Coalition's Lindsay German speaking recently. Is she wrong when she says they can always find money for war if not for public services? Major Douglas would agree with that, so, one suspects would most of the people on the picket line at Lewisham and Ealing Hospitals. It could be that even Barack Obama is getting the message if his latest pronouncements on Afghanistan are anything to go by. Let's hope he can take the rest of his country with him, and our leaders too. For all our sakes.
