Ocean won the Grammy for "Best Urban Contemporary Album," for
Channel Orange.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the seated protest came just moments after the auditorium stayed silent when Brown's name was announced as one of the category's nominees. Due to the lack of applause, speculation arose that CBS added a track of cheers to its television broadcast.
Nevertheless, Brown's behavior didn't go unnoticed on Twitter: "Pretty pissed that @chrisbrown didn't stand up when @frank_ocean got his award..I used to look up to you, man. Disappointed." tweeted one fan.
Others, didn't see the big deal, with one fan tweeting: "if I didn't like someone why would I stand for them??"
The award show snub comes just weeks after an altercation occurred between the two stars over a parking space.
A Los Angeles district attorney alleged in a motion filed last Tuesday that the "Don't Judge Me" singer violated his probation by punching Ocean at a West Hollywood recording studio on
Jan. 27, threatening to "bust" -- or shoot -- the Ocean. The fight is still being investigated, it said, according to
CNN.
