'American Idol' runner-up Jessica Sanchez arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila Sunday morning from Los Angeles, California for her first major solo concert on Valentine's day at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Sanchez is traveling with her mother Edita, who is from Bataan, Philippines, along with her entourage which include season 11 co-finalist Colton Dixon.
Dixon will act as Sanchez's guest performer during the Valentine's day musical presentation sponsored by Smart Communications of the Philippines.
Dixon is the 7th finisher in the season 11 of American Idol. He gained popularity among young fans in Manila during the American Idol group concert in the Philippines last year. His first album was released last month
"The contemporary Christian album is called “A Messenger” and is available now. Two of his singles form the album, “Never Gone” and “You Are” have already found their way to the contemporary Christian charts," americanidol.net reports.
“The hardest part of it was trying to choose 11, 12 songs for the record out of the 50 or so that I wrote, but it came together so well,” Colton said. “I’m very, very proud of this. So I’m excited for everyone to hear it,” Colton added.
Filipino fans of Sanchez have been waiting for her hometown concert in the Philippines and on Valentine's day they will finally see her perform in her first solo concert.
“Great to be back, hello to my fans and see you at the concert,” she said while waiting for her luggage to arrive .
The 17-year-old Fil/Mexican-American singing sensation is awaiting her participation in the new season of popular TV show "Glee" by Fox entertainment.
Sanchez is likewise waiting for the release of her first album.
According to American Idol website, Sanchez told MTV that she has already finished recording the selections in her debut album.
