The voting period ends at 5 p.m. PT on Feb. 19. "We're looking forward to a continuation of the high turnout we saw during the nominations phase," said
Academy COO Ric Robertson.
The Academy also noted in a release that "members of the Academy may vote in up to 24 categories. This year, for the first time, voting members will be eligible to vote in documentary feature, animated short film and live action short film categories."
Academy
members may cast paper ballots or vote online. The accounting firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers will tabulate and verify the results.
Meanwhile, Oscar host Seth MacFarlane has re,leased a new promo and it features an erection quip. Tame by "The Family Guy" creator and right up his alley. The promo is short and simply notes that the Oscars celebrate movies, like "The Matrix."
As noted in an earlier
story, having a sanctioned
Oscar party, to benefit a charity on one's choice, are limited, so is the one that will be held in New York. The official party for east coast Academy members will take place at Daniel, a landmark city restaurant.
“
Oscar® Sunday is a day to celebrate the best in film with family and friends,” notes Patrick Harrison, the Academy’s New York program director. “We are thrilled that Daniel Boulud has opened his doors to welcome Academy members and the New York film community on the occasion of the Oscars.”
Chef Bouled will prepare the meal as well. He hopes this starts a tradition. “New York has been my home for over 30 years, and to be able to host the esteemed Academy’s official east coast event is a huge honor,” said Boulud. “I hope this fete will mark the beginning of a long-running tradition.”
