"Soul Eater" will have its Cartoon Network's Toonami premiere on February 17 at 1:30 AM. After "Samurai 7" finishes its run, it will be replaced by Soul Eater.
If you have Cartoon Network and enjoy Japanese anime, you usually tune into the Toonami block which takes place on Saturday nights. It has been announced by Cartoon Network that the anime series known as “Soul Eater” will be joining the Toonami block with its premiere on February 17 for a 1:30 AM premiere. This series ran from 2008 until 2009 for fifty-one episodes. Once the “Samurai 7” anime series finishes its run on Toonami, it will be replaced by Soul Eater. If you are fans of Soul Eater, then mark February 17th at 1:30 AM on your calendars.
This series is adapted from the original manga created by Atsushi Obubi. The studio known as Bones is responsible for the production. FUNimation has the licensing rights for North America. Soul Eater takes place in the fictional place called “Death City” where Shinigami-sama aka the Grim Reaper resides as the head of the Shibusen Academy which trains shinigami (grim reapers).
Soul Eater focuses on the relationship between genius weapons meister Maka Albarn and her human weapon partner Soul “Soul Eater” Evans as they try to collect one-hundred souls. It also focuses on Blackstar with his human weapon partner Tsubaki and Death the Kid (the son of Shinigami-sama) with his human weapon partners the Thompson sisters (Liz and Patty).
