article imageFacebook made two cents per user

Facebook reported that it made only $64 million on revenue of $1.59 billion, which means the social networking site is making around half a buck (in revenue) a month per user.
According to The Atlantic, Facebook is earning around two cents a month in income. Facebook said that a run-up in R&D ended up hurting their profitability for the quarter.
According to Yahoo Finance, when Facebook is compared to other sites, such as Amazon, Facebook is not considered to be a money machine.
According to Impact Lab, in 2012 the company generated around $13.58 in revenue per user. That was up more than $2 over 2011 and $4 over 2010.
However, if people follow the GAAP method and use the social network site's own accounting, then they made $426 million for the quarter, which is much more than $64 million.
