Trondheim - A Norwegian broadcasting company has created an amazing time lapse video of a train ride between Trondheim to Bodø, detailing the changing of the seasons.
Nowrway's Nordland Railway will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013. To mark the occasion, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) decided to create a video of the 729 kilometer route from Trondheim, across the Arctic Circle in Saltfjellet, to its final destination in Bodø.
The trip was filmed four times, once for each season. The four films were then merged together to create a single, time lapsed style video according to Boarding Area.
The initial plan was to create a 10 hour TV documentary, along with a much shorter web version. The crew eventually decided to create more than one web version. Along with the time-lapsed style video, a video in which a portion of the route can be seen in four separate boxes, each depicting a different season, was also created.
Another web video shows a combination of the time-lapse video, the side-by-side video, along with aerial shots of the train during its travels.
More information on exactly how the video was put together can be found at Nordlandsbanen.
