Capcom, one of the major video game let alone fighting game publishing companies, has released two new video trailers for the upcoming release of its soon-to-be released 2D fighting game called “Darkstalkers Resurrection” which is a re-release of both “Night Warriors: Darkstalker's Revenge” and “Darkstalkers 3: Jedah's Damnation.” These two trailers are character trailers that show who will be in the game. Since Darkstalkers Resurrection is a re-release of those two games, it is expected that all characters from the previous games will return. The two new character trailers feature Lord Raptor and Victor along with their narrated backstories and a demonstration of their special moves.
In the case of Lord Raptor, a ghoul from Australia, it is narrated that he was a rock star obsessed with sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll. He is the stereotype of the typical professional musician who falls hard due to a lack of restraint. Lord Raptor comes off as the rock star who becomes a mass murderer. After taking his own life and the life of others, he comes back to life as a ghoul. Not content with what he has, Lord Raptor wants to kill the other Darkstalkers and take their powers for his own.
In the case of Victor, a Frankenstein-like monster from Germany, he is created by a mad scientist. Victor comes off as the typical Frankenstein monster who is created by some sort of mad scientist. However, the scientist died before Victor came to life. He is on a mission to prove himself in combat. Since Darkstalkers is a fighting game which the motif of supernatural lore, a character like Victor seems most appropriate. He is an example of how any type of supernatural-themed game could use a Frankenstein-like character.
Both Lord Raptor and Victor retain all of their special moves from the games. Fans of the series can see that nothing has been changed. This game is scheduled for release in Japan
come March 14 for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Darkstalkers Resurection can be purchased digitally from either the Playstation Network (PSN) or Xbox Live (XBL) respectively for the PS3 and XB360.
