article imageVideo: Robber scared away from gold shop with a chair and a stick

By Anne Sewell     Jan 22, 2013 in Odd News
A robber was first fought off with a chair and a stick, and then caught, soon after he tried to rob a gold shop in Hui'an County in southeast China's Fujian Province. The surprise was the arsenal found on his person by the police after his arrest.
Caught on the CCTV camera, we see the robber enter the shop. The owner of the shop was in the upstairs apartment and saw what was happening on the live footage.
He runs downstairs, grabs a chair from behind the counter and throws it at the robber from two meters away. The shop assistant, Ms Zeng, with a stick in her hands, attempts to fight off the robber.
Surprised and frightened by the sudden attack from two sides, the robbery suspect runs from the store, with the owner in full pursuit, stick in hand.
Around 300-400 meters down the road, the robber was stopped by another man, who kicked him down and together with others, managed to overpower him and he was then arrested.
The surprising thing is, as we see from the end of the footage, the robber was actually heavily armed.
