When it comes to smoking, it is reported that 7 out of 10 men living in Indonesia smoke cigarettes. Many of those smokers start at a very early age. This also includes the case of a 9-year-old boy named Ilham.
In a video that has been uploaded onto World Star Hip-Hop, it is highlighted how Indonesia has a growing epidemic of smokers. The video, which has English subtitles, explains that 7 out of 10 men in Indonesia are smokers. Furthermore, it adds that the men that are smokers start at a very early age. This brief six and a half minute video follows 9-year-old Ilham who is one of those who started at a very early age. What could shock most people is that Ilham started smoking singe the age of 4 years old. According to Ilham, he likes the taste of cigarettes and that they are better than coffee.
While Ilham's parents try to get him to stop smoking, it's easier said than done. If you take his cigarettes away, Ilham goes into a temper tantrum. But, that doesn't stop Ilham from getting hold of cigarettes. He finds ways to make money to buy the cigarettes or resorts to stealing things to sell for cigarette money. At a very early age, Ilham is addicted to cigarettes.
