By Anne Sewell     Jan 21, 2013 in Travel
Fuengirola - For those interested in photography, it is always a good idea to have your camera with you at all times. So often you will catch a really fun image, just by sheer chance.
Keeping your camera on you at all times is a definite advantage. How often have you said to yourself, "Damn! I wish I had my camera to catch that?"
The photographic eye, once trained, can see things that often others completely overlook. A funny little street scene, a worker taking a snooze, so many options for a candid and fun image.
The images below were taken mainly in Fuengirola, Spain, with some from Estepona and Barcelona.
This image, in the plaza in Fuengirola, shows a man sitting, relaxing and reading the newspaper. Can you see anything strange about him?
Looks like just a man sitting on a bench but look closer. Fuengirola Spain.

Siesta is a serious thing in Spain. This guy apparently couldn't go home for his siesta, so he made do with his wheelbarrow:

In Estepona, the local municipality was painting all the benches in the main street. Seems this gentleman might have missed the sign:
Cuidado recien pintado. Careful recently painted.

La Caixa Bank in Spain prides itself on its "obra social", or social work, as we can see from the sign on the window. Well, it seems like they are doing social work without even being aware of it, after hours. Homeless people sleeping in the ATM foyer:

The train station in Fuengirola is quite attractively painted. This is just an image of people waiting for the train to arrive:

Fuengirola had the honor of hosting the 16th Annual European HOG Rally in 2007. While plenty of photos were taken of the Harleys, there was just one fun image too:

In Fuengirola, there is sometimes fierce competition between shops, as can be seen here:

In Estepona, the sales were on:
50% off but it looks like everything is 100% gone - Estepona Spain.

The writer used to live near the fishing port in Fuengirola and fed a friendly cat there every day. A pair of inventive twin boys got friendly with her and the cat and loved to pose for photos - here are a couple of scenes:

Also seen near the port were two ladies, exercising next to a small fun fair:

And some teenagers were having some fun on some huge concrete blocks on the sea wall:

While the pigeons enjoyed a little McD's at the beach:

Sometimes you can take some pretty interesting photos just by standing on your own balcony. Here we have a bunch of teenagers chatting and having fun (refreshing to see no mobile phones!):

In Barcelona, you will see many human statues and street performers. This "bubble man" was seen near the Cathedral:

You can often see pleasant scenes at the weekly market in Fuengirola too:

But just watch out for some kids - they'll do anything for a laugh when you take their photo!
And heaven forbid that a sea fog should spoil a day at the beach:

Yes, you can still get a tan...
